You learned to push down your emotions and just make it through long ago

Maybe you've tried talking about it, only to have your concerns brushed aside. Attempting to dodge painful memories and putting others first has left you feeling drained. You might have even started distancing yourself from people with the hopes that the more distance you make, the easier it’ll be to live your life authentically.

Some days, you are actually able to convince yourself that things are ok…but…

If you’re being completely honest, the strategies you’ve been using are not bringing the relief you hoped for. And when you add the stress of juggling daily life, family expectations, intergenerational traumas, and complex relationships, it starts to feel like the weight of the world is on your shoulders and there’s no relief.

you’re tired of…

  • Struggling through your relationships, unsure of how to fix the issues

  • living Unhappy, unfulfilled, unsettled, and asking “Is it me?”

  • Feeling pulled in multiple directions without a clear path forward.

  • Repeating the same patterns and traumas of generations before you, waiting for change to happen

Finding the right support can be hard, especially when the people you care about are part of the issue.

The good news is…

When we work together, you will not have to navigate this journey towards your healing alone.

At Adorn Therapy Services, I help clients just like you gain insight and discover tools to balance their deepest needs with the challenges posed by society, culture, and identity, empowering them to break free from feeling stuck, find understanding, and make positive changes in their life.

Services I Provide

  • The path forward may seem daunting- and that’s ok! Compassionately, we will work together to gain understanding of what’s happening, offload the baggage, and create a toolbox for coping.

  • There is no better way to work through relationship issues than having a couple’s therapy. I will help you work through disagreements, cultural or religious differences, trust issues, connection and communication problems, and other specific issues plaguing your relationship.

  • With a strong social justice and anti-oppressive focus, I’m committed to working with the community and corporate organizations to devise strategies that help them deliver services to racial and ethnic minoritized group members in a culturally conscious manner, and also promote the culture of wellness.

Hi, I’m Dr. Tofunmi. The advice to “just focus on yourself” or insert another iteration here, that we get from those who don’t fully grasp the subtle challenges of self-discovery while navigating deeply ingrained family, cultural, and societal influences, downplay the significant effort required to reduce the stress and pain associated with these factors.

If only it were that easy.

Healing from past pain and changing unhelpful patterns can be tough; no one ever taught us how to do it. That's why having the right clinician by your side, someone skilled in their field and experienced in your specific challenges, is crucial. I can guide you through this journey to healing and growth.
